Ala Moana Beach

I was a little nervous about visiting this beach since it’s in the city between Honolulu and Waikiki. I was worried it would be crowded. To my surprise there were hardly and people there, and the beach was very clean. We felt like we had the place to ourselves.

Ala Moana Beach was one of the calmest beaches we visited. The water is very calm because it is protected by an outer coral reef. It was perfect for taking a nice swim. I must say the view was beautiful with the mountains in the back. I even managed to get a quick run in.

There is no shade at this beach so I would not recommend going when the sun is at its highest. The bottom of the ocean drops off quickly so be aware of that if you are not the strongest swimmer. Make sure to go to the east end of the beach where there is no coral at the bottom. It’s the perfect beach for swimming, picnicking, playing volleyball, or jogging.

This is one of my favorite swimsuits and not just because it’s pink. The neckline has a beautiful crochet detailing to it. I love the bottoms because they tie on the sides so you can adjust them to your liking. The swimsuit is available online at River Island. I will have the link posted below. Thanks for reading!
