Haleiwa Joe’s

I don’t consider myself a very picky eater, but finding a good place to eat in Oahu was quite the challenge. We stumbled upon Haleiwa Joe’s, as it was recommended to us by a local. I am so happy we decided to check this place out because the food was incredible. There are two locations in Oahu, but the one in Kaneohe steals the show. They are located close to Kualoa Ranch so you have a beautiful view of the Ko’olau mountains. We opted to go after the sun had set because we didn’t want to wait for a table. If I could do it over again,  I would have definitely waited for seating during the day so we could have enjoyed the view.

The restaurant doesn’t accept reservations, but as mentioned the wait will be worth it. While you wait you can check out the outdoor garden located on the restaurant property. I loved the ambience of the restaurant. It was an open layout without any windows. The breeze and fresh air coming in were perfect and the tiki torches added a nice touch.

Their specialty is the prime rib, but it sells out quick so get there early if you have your heart set on it. If you like fish I highly recommend ordering a seafood dish as that is their other specialty.  I ordered the mackerel with macadamia nut pesto sauce, and mashed potatoes covered in lobster sauce and I have to say it was one of the most delicious meals I have ever eaten.  The ingredients were very fresh and cooked to perfection. For dessert we had fried cheese cake with a mango sorbet. The two different flavors complemented each other very well.

The dress I am wearing is my summer favorite. It has a beautiful floral pattern to it. I love the ruffle detail and the cutout sleeves. Who doesn’t love showing off a little shoulder? The dress is available online at H&M. I paired it with my favorite pair of nude chunky heels. I will have the link for the dress posted below. Thanks for reading!
