Karen’s Place

I’m throwing it back to Hawaii in this post. I still have several things to share with you guys from my trip there. I think about that trip all the time. I was definitely in my happy place when I was there and a big part of that was the weather. Summer is my favorite season and now that the seasons are changing I tend to get sad. Don’t get me wrong I love sweaters and boots and pumpkin spice everything, but winter is not for me. If I could move away for the winter months, I would be a very happy gal.

We stayed at two different locations while in Hawaii. Both were booked through Airbnb. If you haven’t heard of this company I highly recommend them. It’s a website where people rent out vacation homes at a much more affordable rate. What I love about it is that you can customize to your price range and needs by using their filter. People also write reviews of their stay and there are pictures listed as well. This place was located in Waimea and it was absolutely stunning. We had a balcony with the most amazing views of the ocean and mountains. The downside was that the place was in the middle of nowhere so getting around was time consuming. I feel like we spent a great deal of time driving each day. If you are looking to go to the nice beaches and do all the touristy things I wouldn’t reccomend this place, but if you want to get away from all the hustle and bustle this place is perfect as it is very secluded.

The security at this place was top-notch. They wanted to see our drivers license and the car registration. This was a bit annoying as we were both tired and just wanted to go to bed, but it was nice knowing we would be safe during our stay there. There was also a daily parking fee which I wish we would have known about ahead of time. The condo was beautifully decorated with a fully stocked kitchen, a nice living room, bedroom , and bathroom. The grounds were meticulously taken care of. There were beautiful peacocks that roamed the grounds. I had never heard a peacock call before so that was a first and let me tell you they are loud and like to call out when it’s dark out. It reminded me of the sound Kevin made from the movie UP! I felt like I was out in the middle of the jungle. Overall, it was a beautiful place to stay, but I would probably not stay there again because I prefer to be close to attractions and restaurants. Thanks for reading!
